Munnar - the Hill Station of Kerala in Idukki

Munnar is one of the coolest tourist destinations of south India. Situated at 1600 meter above sea level, this magical hill station offers a great variety of choices like lakes, reservoirs, mountain streams, scab row rocks, wooded valleys, wavy grass hills, tea plantations, hurling waterfalls, fragrant cardamom bushes, adventurous elephant herds and a beautiful landscape painted with colonial bungalows and buildings. Munnar is a favorite spot for the adventurous tourists with the facilities like trekking, camping, rock climbing, parasailing, gliding and fishing. The Nilgiris or Blue Mountains got its name from the blue flowers of Neelakurinji that blossoms once in every 12 years.

Geography

Munnar hill station is located in the Idukki district of the southwestern Indian state of Kerala. Munnar is situated at around 1,600 metres (5,200 ft) above sea level,in the Western Ghats range of mountains.

Eden Garden Park Kolkata

The Eden Garden Park is located opposite to the Eden Garden, which is well known as the largest cricket stadium in India and the third largest in the world.

The Eden Garden Park is well maintained and is very popular too for the beautiful and amazing variety of plants and flowers grown here. People who enjoy horticulture should definitely visit this park.

The park is spread in an area of 50 acres and one can see the huge mango, banyan and mahogany trees providing a shade where one can see people relaxing.

These trees are as old as 1841 and these were planted by the Governor general Auckland. These trees were named after his sisters Emily and Fanny Eden.There is a three storeyed Burmese pagoda too which is visible in red and golden yellow colors, this was brought here by Lord Dalhousie. One can sit and relax in this park and even enjoy the delicious street food available here.

Chakrata is hill station in the district of Dehradun of Indian state of Uttarakhand. Elevated at the height of 7000 ft it is one of the major tourist destinations of the state. It was mainly developed as a hill station by the British during colonial rule. Now it houses a cantonment area. Gifted with dense forest and lusting greeneries, it is one of most popular tourist spot to spend vacation. Weather of Chakrata remains pleasant most of the times of the year. The hill station was formerly known as Jaunsar Bawar, as it was inhabited mainly by Jaunsari tribe.

Tiger fall :

Tiger fall is an amazing water fall and therefore it is a major tourist spot in Chakrata. Being one of the highest water falls in India, it is very breathtaking experience to watch the water fall situated at the altitude of 2200m Deoband is a place from where tourists can watch the fascinating and wonderful views of Himalayan range. Deoband is nestled with dense forest and is beautiful place to explore the nature. It also houses many varieties of animals and birds in the surrounding areas.

Chakrata is well linked by road to other parts of the state and the country. Many state run buses and private luxury buses are available from  Dehradun and other cities of the state and the country. Nearest railway station is Dehradun railway station which is about 92km away from the chakrata.  Dehradun railway station is connected to many cities and town of the state and the country.  Nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, about 116m away from Chakrata. The airport is well connected by many fights to major cities of the country.

Auli Ski Destination

Auli in the Indian state of Uttarakhand is renowned for the fascinating ski resorts and stunning natural vistas. Nanda Devi National Park

Among the most impressive wilderness regions of Himalayas is Nanda Devi National Park.  It is subjugated Nanda Devi peak, which rises more than seven thousand eight hundred meter. In the park no citizens reside and hence it has continued almost intact since it is inaccessible. It is the home of various rare mammals, particularly the snow leopard, bharal & musk deer of Himalayan.

Contained in the Garhwal Himalaya, the park is situated in district Chamoli. It contains the catchment region of the Rishi Ganga which is Dhauli Gangas eastern branch that streams at Joshimath into the Alaknanda River. The region is a huge glacial basin, separated by a sequence of equivalent, north-south leaning ridges. These grow up to the surrounding mountain border next to which are approximately dozen crests, the better recognized with Dunagiri, Changbang & Nanda Devi East.

Jungles are limited mainly to the Rishi Gorge & are subjugated by fir, rhododendron & birch equal to approximately 3,350 m creating a wide belt among these & the alpine fields are birch jungle , through an rhododendron understorey. Environment is drier inside 'Inner Sanctuary, flattering roughly xeric up the major Nanda Devi glaciers. Afar Ramani, the plants change from jungle to waterless alpine area, amid scrub juniper fitting the leading wrap inside the 'Inner Sanctuary'. Juniper provides route to grasses attitudinally, flat mosses & lichens, & on riverine earth to yearly basil & dwarf willow.

Plenty of ungulate populations are main main famous thing of the basin, particularly musk deer of Himalayan (planned as 'lower risk' endangered class). Also common are Mainland serow & Himalayan tahr.  Goral allocation does not emerge to expand to inside the basin, though the type does happen in the national park neighborhood. Big carnivores are general leopard, black bear of Himalayan & brown bear, the reality of it however has to be established. The mere primate here is ordinary langur, though exterior the park limits rhesus macaque is seen. Biosphere reserve reported approximately 83 classes.

A sum of one hundred and fourteen bird species concerning to thirty families was documented through the nineteen ninety three Nanda Devi Scientific & Ecological Expedition, around sixty seven for the 1st time. Visiting The Park

Nanda Devi National Park is largely divided into 2 pieces - the Inner & External Sanctuaries.

The Inner Sanctuary consists of - 2/3rd of the Nanda Devi National Parks whole region & comprises Mount Nanda Devi beside Devistan I (twenty one thousand nine hundred and nine feet), Devistan II (twenty one thousand four hundred and twenty one feet) & Rishi Kot (twenty thousand four hundred and fifty nine feet).  Also, the Inner Sanctuary has 2 main glaciers - the Uttari Rishi Glacier (north) & the Dakkhni Rishi Glacier (south) that border the Nanda Devi Mountain.


The Outer Sanctuary is alienated from the Inner Sanctuary through high crest (the Rishi ravine), by which runs the Rishi Ganga branch. The Outer sanctuary is surrounded on three sides by nineteen mountain crests, every one taller than nineteen thousand feet.

The whole region includes the catchment region of the Rishi Ganga. It is an eastern branch of Dhauli Ganga that goes in river Alaknanda at Joshimath.

Valley Of Flowers National Park

Valley of Flowers National Park is one of the most renowned and famous national park of India and it is situated at western Himalayan region. Moreover, this park is famous for alpine endemic flowers and you can also check out some of flora varieties as well. This is situated at Uttrakhand and you would also get to view some of the amazing endangered animals here and that includes black Asiatic bear, blue sheep, brown beer and snow leopard as well. History

According to the facts, this place was not present on tourist map and this was mainly due to the inaccessibility region. R.L. Holdsworth, Eric Shipton and Frank S. Smythe, these were British mountaineers and had lost their route during the expedition time from Mt. Kamet and now this valley is known as full from flowers. They were attracted to this magnificent place and then they give this name- Flowers valley and you can also find a book of the same name as well. It was in year 1939, when Margaret Legge, she was a botanist by profession and was deputed through Botanic Royal Gardens located at Edinburgh. She had arrived at this place for the purpose of conducting further studies and she had also collected some flowers and that were lost through her. It was her sister who visited this valley and then she found memorial at this place.

Best Time To Visit

This is one of the places that open up only in the June beginning and it is opened till the September end. Moreover, this is covered through snow entire year. Visitors are recommended that they should plan their visit to this place during the monsoon time and they should avoid going to this place before the month of July, as they would not find any flowers at this place. You would get to see the amazing view of melting glaciers and during the mid August time, valley color would start changing on its own and that would become green to yellow and then flowers will start dying. Temperature is very cold during the early morning and late nights.

Distance From - National Park

In order to visit this place, you need to board a flight from Grant jolly airport that is present at Dehradun and this is present at a distance of 290 kms. You can also plan to travel in train and Rishikesh is the only bordering railway station. You can also visit this nation park through the help of road transport and nearest destination to this place is Govind ghat. You can enjoy trekking at this place and go through the steep mountain ranges in order to reach Ghangaria that is base camp.

How To Get There

If you are planning to visit this place and then do trekking of approximately 17 kms and Joshimath is the adjacent town and it is located at Garhwal. It has been equipped with convenient transport connections and they are from Dehradun and Haridwar and they are only 270 kms through Joshimath. You can also plan your trip to the Govindghat and this is located adjacent to Joshimath. From Govinddhat, trekking would start that is of 14 kms and trekkers have to come at Ghangaria and that is located close to valley and that would gorge over Pushpawati River.

Things To Do In - National Park

Visitors can plan their trip to Hemkund Sahib and it is only six kilometers through Ghangharia. This is one of the religious and ancient Sikhs places. You would get to view here poppies, daisies, calendulas, orchids and anemones. This place is also popular for some of the amazing Brahmakamal, cobra lily and blue poppy and other rare species as well. You would be required to visit this place during the timings of morning 6 am to evening 6 pm and last entry would be done during the 3 pm.
